Mike Moreland is anything but your typical Portrait Photographer. Mike’s driving passion is capturing dramatic images that show a myriad of emotions. His creative, unique and highly experienced eyes capture moments that the average person overlooks.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Mike left the South to attend the world renowned Brooks Institute of Photography. His portrait work has been published in hundreds of national magazines and books including The Atlantan, Jezebel, and Occasions Magazine. Rangefinder Magazine claimed Mike as “One of the top photographers in the country!” He has also been presented by the Association of Certified Professional Wedding Consultants with the Professional’s Choice Award Atlanta, and was named the 2010, 2011, 2014 Allie Award Winner for the Best Event Photographer.
Mike’s newest passion is sharing his knowledge with others. Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, Mike works with all levels of students to teach the ins and outs of family and high school senior portraits, weddings, maternity shoots, newborns, boudoir, commercial, studio lighting, and everything in between. If photography is your passion, Mike Moreland knows all the rules, techniques, and tricks to drive your photography skills to the next level!

At Moreland Photography, we don’t conform to one style. We customize the style of photography towards your specific desires. Mike Moreland’s commercial advertising background equips him with the knowledge to photograph your creative ideas in any condition!
Whether that be indoors or outdoors, with natural lighting or studio lighting, or in full sun or low light, our team will understand exactly what your goals are and provide you with experienced and informed shoot suggestions. Mike is also familiar with many beautiful and uncharted locations around North Georgia, so his work offers a broader variety over other local photographers.

In depth creative conversations happen all the time behind the scenes to ensure we’re staying true to your vision. We also have long-term relationships with the best album and print labs in the country. Whatever you need, we can provide!
- Our Studio- Not located in a strip mall, we have 4 acres of property with loads of scenic areas including a barn, boulders, swings and more, as well as a fully equipped lighting studio! While we can go anywhere for sessions, having our own studio gives us the luxury of privacy. Indoors, we take pride in having the latest products displayed at all times so you can get a feel for what your interests are.

As artists, we truly want your session to turn into memories and artwork you’ll look back on forever.
