These Blue Ridge portraits we did for the Ellebys turned out beautifully. We have worked with this family for many years. We photographed maternity and newborn shoots for both of the children, as well as some family sessions here and there. The Ellebys are frequent clients and we love working with them.
The day we chose for this shoot was absolutely perfect for fall. It had just rained, so we were a little nervous about finding the beautiful fall colors that Blue Ridge has to offer. The family was more than willing to drive around with us to find them, though. It was a fun adventure for everyone involved.
The Ellebys have always been wonderful with styling their own shoots. We can always use their photos as an example of how other families should dress in their photos.
For this particular session, we wanted to do a very fall look and capture some photos of the family out in nature. Of course, the main goal was to get some images that the family could hang in their mountain home in Blue Ridge. We also wanted to get some images that could be used for creative holiday cards.
We did a variety of photos with the Ellebys. The goal was to capture the different relationships in the family and showcase some of the beautiful scenery that Blue Ridge has to offer.
The family also has a mountain home and they love the area it is in. We decided to showcase that area for their Blue Ridge portraits.
Big Iron Bridge
We chose a lot of uniquely scenic things for this shoot. The big iron bridge is one of Blue Ridge’s land marks, so we stopped for some pictures there.
We always want to go into a session knowing what our clients want to get out of the session. The Elleby’s were no exception. For a family portrait to hang in their cabin, we thought something that showcased the family and the area they loved would be perfect for the Ellebys.
