When Parker’s mom called us and told us she wanted some girly newborn photos for her daughter, Parker was 9 days old. Typically, the window for newborn photos where the child is in a deep sleep is up to 10 days after they are born. We ended up doing the shoot the day after we received the phone call! We wanted to fall in that window for the newborn shoot, so it was our only option.
Parker’s mom wanted her photos to be very girly. We went to their house because we always want to customize our photo shoots to each client. Typically, we use the baby’s nursery for the newborn shoots to make it more personal.
We went to the house a few hours before Parker’s dad came home from work so that we would get the beautiful daylight streaming in through the windows. There was an LSU flag on the wall and we found out that Parker’s dad is an LSU Alumna. We decided to do an LSU themed photo as a surprise for her dad.
In addition to Parker’s girly newborn photos, we did some family shots as well. We wanted to have photos with mom, photos with dad, and shots of the entire family.
The main goal for this shoot was capture images that told a story so we could design an heirloom album from the session. We also wanted to get portraits that the family could hang on the wall.
We are also doing Parker’s 1 year shoot when the time comes. Parker has a mini replica of her dad’s car and we think that having a father daughter shoot like that will be a ton of fun. Stay tuned for those!
